How we use

Cost of feeding

For the young & growing: Begin combining with your daily feed ration at a rate of 1/4 teaspoon per 1/8 cup of feed. You can start increasing this rate up to 1/2 tsp as birds mature.

For the maturing: Combine with your daily feed ration at a rate of 1 tsp per 1/2 cup of feed. Begin increasing this rate up toward 1 1/2 tsp per 1/2 cup as birds approach laying age.

For the laying, breeding, & mature: Combine with your daily feed ration at a rate of 1 TB per 1/2 cup of feed.

As a treat: Feed as needed to add variety and nutrition to diet, as well as promote scratching and pecking.

These are just estimates and based off of our personal experience; the amounts will fluctuate according to your use. Remember, our products are not only designed for your flock, but are intended for your wallet; so whether we are helping you to complement our grains, peas, & seeds, supplement your feed, or offering a treat - we can enrich any feeding plan. The price estimates below do not reflect shipping and handling, as they fluctuate and must factor in circumstances that vary among buyers (i.e., distance, shipping method, etc.).

To feed one bird at a rate of 1 TB per 1/2 cup of feed, twice daily it would cost about $0.26 per day for a 1.5 lb bucket. The cost would fall to about $0.23 per day if you were using a 3 lb. bucket. For one mature bird at this feeding rate, there are about 100 servings in a 1.5 lb bucket and about 200 servings in a 3 lb bucket.

We, at Casually Cockeyed Farms, realize this cost may be out of reach for some, and that is why we design our products with every farm in mind. We use the highest of quality ingredients; however, we pay a premium to do so. The good news is you can control the cost by utilizing the option to supplement your already established feeding program - just toss us into your feed and voila! To further reduce the cost, simply offer us to your flock as a beneficial, healthy treat - the possibilities are endless!
